Internet Sharing locked out

I recent bought an Huawei W1 in the UK from o2. I soon swapped to the giffgaff network and in general I am very happy with my purchase. However, as I bought the phone on "pay as you go" from o2 the internet sharing feature is disabled and does not appear in the settings menu even though I do not use o2 anymore. Does anybody know of any possible way this could be enabled?

I'm guessing you need to call the pay as you go provider.

Why would I have to call giffgaff as they did not provide the phone or the firmware on the phone? Surely this is a customisation of windows phone 8 by o2?

Yeah this is annoying, I'm on three now with my W1 unlocked but I can't share my unlimited data!!
