I use MS Camera as it's faster than Nokia Camera Beta in my 925. I noticed that Camera will snap a pic even if it's not focused when using the camera button. That makes it faster than NCB. The latter will still focus hunt before it takes a pic. Can't wait for 8.1 and Cyan to update Nokia Camera...

Our Nokias only have one aperture, the widest one (I.e. f/2.0 in the 925). So, no "sunny 16 rule" and hyperfocal focusing. We need a real camera for those.

Yes, it is the pre- focusing that causes the delay. Nokia Camera or Camera focuses after you press the shutter button. Iphone continuously pre-focuses before you press the shutter. It also doesn't pre-focus anymore in between shots.

It's almost impossible to get everything in focus with the phone's camera because the single gperture is really wide (f/2). You need a smaller aperture for it. Best work around is Refocus as mentioned above.
