I've got the same problem with my 8x. Tried a 2.1a charger. I haven't tried a charge only cable though.

Now got a Kensington PowerBolt 2.1a charger and still getting the problem. This really is a deal breaker for me :(

Thanks for the suggestions. Managed to find a 2.1amp charger on amazon for a reasonable price. Hopefully does the trick.

The HTC charger that came with it is 1amp.

I've noticed my 8x led flashing red and green. It only happens when running a craptacular gps navigation app. The phone runs mega hot. Overheating warning? Too much power draw to charge? Any guesses?
