Can a Windows Phone Match Battery Life of Droid

This is obviously only my opinion, but I dont see Android in my own setup at least doing anything more than Windows Phone. Both give me push email, push Facebook notifications, calls and texts and Google Talk access. I have similar apps on both platforms but they dont do anything in the...

Can a Windows Phone Match Battery Life of Droid

In my opinion, mAH for mAH, Windows Phone 8 and Android 4.0 are about equal in power usage. Android 4.1, Jelly Bean, is slightly less efficient. However, Windows Phones have smaller batteries in general especially compared to the phone volume/size. This is an OEM decision and not a problem...

Good news for 8s owners :)

All I can say for sure is that I had about 300mb free. Tried to install a 120mb game from the store and was told I didn't have enough free space. I am trying to work out the tipping points here to help everyone out but it is very time consuming and difficult. Someone previously said I was...

Good news for 8s owners :)

Some space may well be released. But not all of it. Sent from my Windows Phone 8S by HTC using Board Express

Good news for 8s owners :)

That is not how things work. Apps require reserved space in order to be installed. Their size in the Store is just the download size. An app can require any amount of storage space to be reserved and will then refuse to install after that. I have tried this out with a load of apps when I took...

Windows Phone 8 and SD Cards

Apps can request a reserved portion of your storage of pretty much any size. And they can keep requesting more. The system also reserves space for various things itself. That space gets eaten up fast.

Is Htc 8s what I'm looking for?

Windows Phone is exactly the same on the 8S as all the other Windows Phone 8 devices. Yes, it has all the lockscreen stuff, everything!

Seeing no one complaining about the 8S..

people always have things to complain about!!!

Seeing no one complaining about the 8S..

It is not perfect, there are some minor glitches in software, but it is as good as any Android, iPhone or Windows Phone 7 device I have used in that sense. The storage is becoming an issue for me. I lost 100Mb just using the phone last night and I have no idea how. When you have the 16Gb of...

Approx, 1.6Gb is free for the user.

Seeing no one complaining about the 8S..

I think the sound quality is fine on the 8S although the external speaker is very weak. Your other requirements are really software based, suffice to say that the phone is pretty snappy and quick. Not super quick, but for a low-mid range device, it is excellent. The screen is ok. It is not...

Is 4GB enough? How many apps can you have?

I dont know what will happen when the space gets full - I might try that though. No doubt 4Gb is not really enough, apps can request a certain amount of space be reserved for them no matter what. You cannot assume that any sort of cache is dynamic.

    4" WP8 Phone?

The 8X is worth looking at. But it is quite a bit larger than the 8S. It is a gorgeous device though. Sent from my Windows Phone 8S by HTC using Board Express

Is 4GB enough? How many apps can you have?

Where are you getting your average app size from? App data also has to be stored in that same space along with other os data. Whilst it is possible to install 250 apps into 1Gb of space, the calculation is a lot more complex than that. Only pictures and music can be stored on the sd card. Apps...

    4" WP8 Phone?

I have 440Mb of apps on my 8S. I do not have anything like 100 apps. No idea where that average number comes from but it does not ring true for me. In addition, all app data has to be sorted in the space provided with the phone. Plus, all system cache data goes into that space as well. This...
