Cube WP10 $126.91 ($119.99) at Gearbest... [spot sales]

Can you describe the update hack? Are you able to do insider builds?

    Frustrating.

Weak excuse. An iPhone gets updates for years to come and any android phone is almost always guaranteed to at least get one version upgrade. This phone is totally DIW. The creators update brings nothing to mobile.

    Frustrating.

First off, I know nothing about Finance, hence I am the IT Manager and not somebody up stairs making real money. And secondly, x86 on ARM is the ONLY hope windows 10 phone users have to close the app gap. Is it ideal? Absolutely not, but I would totally run Chrome and the hangouts client...

    Frustrating.

It does very little now and it did very little when I bought it. I guess my hope was that something big would come relatively soon to THIS device, but that won't be happening. Nothing will come to this device. It was worth the purchase with the future unknown, but now that's it's known, and...

    Frustrating.

The problem is it isn't the best. It isn't even close. Microsoft has decided to move on from the current hardware and implement the features it needs to compete in new hardware instead of giving the features to the current breed of hardware. So, like I said, the x3 is more or less abandoned and...

    Frustrating.

To omit the feature altogether is ridiculous. It can be controlled with MDM. The security claim is just a cop out. And we literally just had the choice of going with dumb laptop clients or full featured ones for the same price. We went full featured. Since we use VDI no data will be on them, and...

    Frustrating.

I put it in the basement with no sim because, have no doubt, win 10 devices without ARM are going to be forgotten about and abandoned. Win10 on ARM is going to be the solution to closing the app gap, but my brand new, $850 flagship HP Elite X3 will not get such features. And on top of that, HP...

    Frustrating.

I can't help but feel a little screwed over by HP and MS by buying this phone. After I dropped $850 on it, which is a lot of dough... (And some people dropped $12-1300) Microsoft goes and announces Win 10 on Arm, which I guarantee we will not get to enjoy with this phone. So now, people have...

    New Firmware released (23/NOV/2016): 0002.0000.0018.0105

Doesn't show up on fast ring. HP - this is getting really old.

Anyone use the X3 with Insider Builds?

Text messaging completely broke for me on the last fast ring build over the weekend. I assume it was the latest skype preview update that did it. I now can't select any app as the default messaging app, and neither messaging or skype can send texts. WDRT time.

Why I consider the Elite x3 a downgrade from an Lumia 950XL

I have an X3... and I agree. If you have a 950XL, it is not worth the $800.

Screen in sunlight better after new update? (380 nits to 550 nits)

There should be an improvement, they posted it in the firmware changelog.

    Double-Tap and raise/lower to sleep/wake.

It is better with the update, for sure, and they fixed the double-tap to sleep issue. But, it still isn't perfect (far from it). It needs to check the proximity sensor before turning the screen on, as the screen constantly turns on in my pocket because it is detecting my walking as taps.

Is this phone Glance Screen capable?

The device needs an AMOLED display, which it has. Considering an end user can implement this on android devices that don't support it in about 4 minutes, I can't imagine it would be much of a struggle for a dev at HP to get going. Just have a warning; "this will drain your battery".

Is this phone Glance Screen capable?

Yes. This was the best feature W8/10 had, but a long shot. Being able to, wait for it, glance at the screen at dinner or in meetings and see if I have new emails, texts, etc without there being an obtrusive screen wake or sound was a feature every smartphone needs. Now Samsung has stolen...
