Goodbye Windows Mobile I've been a loyal Windows Phone user from the beginning. Today I ordered the Android Google Pixel 2. I'll never understand how Microsoft could screw up so badly and leave us. Even Bill Gates now has an Android.

Similar issue here. When I leave my work wireless, it doesn't automatically connect to the Verizon network. Have to do a restart.

How do I know if the firmware is updated?

Yes, all installed on both our Verizon 8X phones. Took about 60 minutes...2 stages. All seems fine so far.

I've never been happier to be wrong. I posted that we 8x Verizon owners were never getting 8.1.1 (direct from HTC) support but today the update has arrived!

I see now that T Mobile has announced the 8X will not get 8.1.1. I think Verizon will do the same. I'm holding out for a flagship Window Lumina with Windows 10. Will have to wait a few more months.

I was told yesterday by HTC is that 8.1 failed in Stage 3 testing. HTC is not getting the upgrade....ever. I'm getting a Lumina.

I was told yesterday that my 8x (Verizon) failed the 8.1 upgrade. I'm not getting it...ever. So why would we get 10?

So, I just contacted HTC and they verified that the HTC 8X is NOT getting the Windows 8.1 update...ever! While it was in Stage 3 of development, it apparently failed and they don't plan to move forward. Sad news. It will be a new Lumina phone for me...now I just need to decide which one.
