3D Printed Band Stand

Here's my first iteration of a stand for the Band 2. Not perfect yet, but getting there.

Not bad! I'll be interested to see how you end up with it. The new charging design doesn't lend itself quite as easily to a sexy looking solution, does it?

It's actually less than it looks cause the inside is a grid pattern so it's mostly hollow.

it looks okay, but of course that printing gives me this feeling, it looks like you took a cheap sandal and cut it and glued it haha. but I know these are only tests so saving material is good.
I guess you could have done a drawing first with good measures though, I always dot that, and make sure it would fit better or be perfectly exact. but it's cool people are coming with this ideas. always good!

I added a little nub in front so you could press down on the band and the time would show up. This is for a medium size band... no idea how fit would be on small or large. Think I still have some minor adjustments to do. The main problem is getting a nice fit for the charger portion. There isn't a lot to hold on to there. I was thinking either place a magnet to hold it in or maybe adhesive.

I'll sand it a bit and do an acetone vapor bath tomorrow to give it a nice finish and post tomorrow.

I like it. Hopefully MS doesn't keep changing the connector like fitbit so we can have a nice stand that lasts.

How about you pay shipping and I'll send you the one I currently have. It's still a rough draft for me anyways so it'll probably go in the trash eventually. I even sanded and shine'd it up a bit. Then you can let us know how a large fits on it. Just message me and we'll figure things out.

The thingiverse file has been updated to a final version. Finally got a version where I get a really good fit of the power block.

i was just at the Microsoft Store and took some pictures of their display stand. maybe this will give others more design ideas for stand options for the band 2. i like how the charger sticks to the back.

I have the files on thingiverse if you have a 3d printer. Otherwise I put some different models on shapeways you can purchase. just search "Microsoft band 2". I've got 2 of em up there.
