This post was inspired by this post: http://forums.windowscentral.com/microsoft-band/354040-diy-inight-band-data.html

I also have Sleep Apnea and love being able to track my sleep data.

I've been playing with this application: Unband

You can export ALL of your Microsoft Band and Health Dashboard Data into a series of CSV files that you can manipulate and view.

A few other things this application will allow you to do (and those of you with Robotic and Fruit based devices can now rejoice!!!)

  • Apply a custom background image to your band (Just like Pimp My Band!)
  • Manage Tiles
  • Change a deeper level of color schemes (Base Color, Accent Color, Secondary Text Color and more)
  • Clear Unread Count
  • With MORE options coming SOON!!

On the other side of this application...

I am working on getting this data that I exported from my dashboard imported into a local database (you can use MS SQL Server Express Edition, which is free) and then do some reporting on it from there.

I'll have more time to play with it this weekend and I will build some SQL Scripts that will allow anyone to build tables, import the data and also retrieve, view and even chart the data with Excel.

I'll keep it as simple as possible for those of you that aren't as technically minded as some of us (I have to keep in mind that I need my wife to be able to use this as well (LOL?)) :winktongue:

Enjoy all!

It's a great app and was actually mentioned several times on this forum already when it was first released. I used it to see how the GPS data export would import into Endomondo and it worked great.

Could this be used to load data into Healthvault? I've got several months worth of Band data but only recently linked it to Healthvault.

ok, so either I'm missing something here, or this may have been dropped as an ongoing project?

First of all, I TOTALLY GET This is/was a beta, but...

I downloaded the app and also the MSFT sync app and made sure the was not running (unloaded).
Crashes on start.

I've read, or tried t o follow the sequence of events regarding a solution and either I'm missing it, or it is left unresolved (apparently due to a deprecated sync dll (library file).

Anybody have any updates or clues on this project?

OK, time for first "annoying question" but: the sync app works correctly (i.e., recognizes the Band), right?

Also, how does your computer respond when you plug in the Band?

Finally: have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the unBand? I recall somewhere when it was released a discussion (may be on their website) about dealing with crashes/conflicts.

Yep...there it is (#3-#4)...

FAQ

  1. "Windows protected your PC" - is this Malware?
Nope, you'll notice that the code is full signed (which means it's trusted, and someone has verified that I am who I say I am), but it takes a while for Windows to begin trusting the new software. With time this will disappear.
  2. What data does the app collect?
No information that can be used to identify you. We do collect:
    • Basic PC information (OS version, language)
    • App launch information
    • App usage information
    • Band configuration information (firmware versions etc)
This data is used for statistics so that we know what features are popular and what to invest in.
  3. App Crashes on Start
Make sure to install the Microsoft Band Sync app for Windows
  4. App Still Crashes on Start
Even though you have the Sync app installed, unBand still crashes. This is likely due to us not being able to find the Sync app.
To solve this, copy Microsoft.Cargo.Client.Desktop8.dll from wherever it is installed toc:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Band Sync.
You can also copy it to the same directory as unBand, search for it under%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0
Yup, we're going to work on a better solution...

I have the same exact problem as Bilbo. I have the sync app, and it works effortlessly. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled it more than a few times. It just will not run. And that .dll file doesn't exist on my computer. I just want to get a .gpx file of my ride off of the band. I was counting on this software to work as a back up, as the .csv file you get from the MS Health site isn't doing it for me. Is there another app?

Hi! I'm also trying to track detailed sleep data for a research project but I can't get unBand to work. It looks like Microsoft removed the Microsoft.Cargo.Client.Desktop8.dll from the Microsoft Band Sync files in recent version updates.

Do you have a copy of this dll? It should be in your Program Files/Microsoft Band Sync folder. I'd really appreciate if you could send me a copy.

Thanks!
