Dual SIM -LTE?

Thank you for verifying. What's the difference between 1065 and RM_1096_1001, the one I have? Mine is dual-SIM, LTE, on TMobile USA and getting 4G connection.

WW

I think the 1096 is just the international version, which is also the one I have. I installed the 'Net Check' app and it definitely identified me as being on a 4G LTE network.

newegg just got the RM-1065 version in stock, unlocked.

Does that mean the LTE band coverage is different? It seems both RM-1065 and RM-1096 cover US LTE bands.

To get the LTE speeds in the US you need the 1065 variant. The 1066 and 1067 will only get you 4G.

Is that a typo? Did you mean 1096 instead of 1066? Why would the 1096 NOT get 4G LTE in the US? It operates on 1700MHz (T-Mobile) & 1900MHz (AT&T) bands which are both 4G LTE.

Unless you are referring to the non-dual sim, which is 1066 and not LTE or 4G, in which case it is NOT a typo... and the more I think about it, probably not. Haha.

I bought the dual-SIM international LTE version of the 640 (non-XL) and it rocks LTE in both Canada and the U.S. I'm quite confident it'll work.

Did we ever get official confirmation that it can do at least 3G on the second SIM through duplexing? Or is it 2G only?

I have a 640XL 4G LTE Single SIM RM-1064_1017 bought from Vodafone Australia, it has 2 sim slots however one has been blocked off with a fixed plastic block. When I updated the software to Windows 10 and then reverted back to Windows 8.1 update 2, I now have 2 phone apps with one being marked as Phone Off. I am assuming the software is picking up the 2nd SIM slot but I do not know if it would be possible to remove the plastic block and activate the 2nd SIM slot. Wouldn't the phone need two 4G LTE Radios for both SIMS to work and if so why would the software pick up the slot if no 2nd Radio would be present. Could understand making one board for both phones to save costs but surely they wouldn't include 2 Radios and just deactivate one???

I think that that is just one of the peculiarities of Win10 being so beta. When I installed Win 10 on my Lumia 635 it also showed two phone apps (and is definitely single sim).

For those concerned about connection speeds the best download speed I have seen (using the speedtest.net app) is 55.98Mbps and upload of 12.66Mbps my carrier is Comviq Sweden. Phone model is RM1065_1012 version 000-FR (French market dual sim LTE)

Hi Mike, when you're on an LTE network, does the 1065 say 'LTE' at the top of your phone, or just '4G' like the international version?

It says "AT&T LTE.".

Go to B&H Photo and pull up the RM-1065. Go to the Specs tab. It has ALL of the AT&T and TMobile LTE bands.

Quick question, has anyone confirmed that Lumia 640 XL LTE Dual Sim's Slot 2 can also get LTE/4G?

Update: I have confirmed on my end. Just restart or go to airplane mode and back.

I have not been able to get both slots to get 3G or LTE at the same time.. one at a time yes (with the other running at 2G) mine is a RM-1065

You are correct, you will not be able to get both to do so simultaneously, however both are capable one at a time.
