Thinking of picking up a set of camera lenses. Will magnetic lenses work on the 640, or do I need to use the clip-on type?

it might not as the magnetic connection could be weak thus your lenses could fall easily -best way is to try some out

I have a set of magnetic lenses. I didn't try out clip-on holder because camera lens is quite far from top of the phone and I didn't want holder to block "half" of the screen :) Magnetic connection is quite strong and so is the adhesive of the ring after it has some time to set.

If you want to use the lense also on front camera, clip-on might be only possibility. FFC does not have enough room for the ring. Mine has inner diameter very close to diameter of the camera lens (see this thread, some images also on page 1).

Wait, what?

You're telling me magnetic camera lenses come with an adhesive ring to make them work? Wow. I didn't know this. I would have bought them a long time ago. Looks like I've got some shopping to do. Which lens did you get that came with the ring?

I think mine is Black eye. Ring has adhesive (My Set has two normal and two notched rings) as not many phones have much iron in them. Since the magnet is in the lens, the Ring should not affect compass :)
