Had it on my M8, and could have sworn I set it up on my father-in-laws 1520. I looked under glance and don't see the option...Win 10 Mobile with .29 update.

Welcome to Windows Central! We have a large supply of knowledge just a search away, and not coming in daily! :D

As for your query of the 950 XL, or even the 950, having Double-Tap to wake, they don't currently, though hopefully might later on. Not sure what the reason is, but last I heard, Daniel is still trying to figure what's up with it.

Hope that helps, and again, search away at anything that you might have a question with, it might already be there, answered. ;)

I'm afraid it's about a copyright or something as no one from MS is talking about it.

It is not about copyright, it is because Windows Hello. I guess they will update the OS for adding Windows Hello or Double tap option in the future.

That's a major disappointment. My old Lumia 521 had double tap, my 925, 640 XL and my wife's 640 all have double tap. What hardware restrictions would prevent that feature since these phones are running the highest available hardware on the market?

Ya, I don't think it can be hardware restricted...I think its OS restricted, at the moment. I just didn't know if it was hiding somewhere in the new Settings portal. Thanks all!

I was watching mobiletechreview's review on YouTube, and I would swear I saw Lisa say it had double tap, and even show it. I guess I need to research it...

Edit: nm, was a 950 review, not xl

The 640 has it? I just bought an AT&T 640 gophone and immediately put w10 insider on it.. no double tap. I thought it was a phone limitation!

Please use the Windows Feedback app to request this feature.

I think that Microsoft expected people to use Glance all the time and didn't think that people might want their phone's screen off until they needed to see something.

I know in 8.1, if you go to settings> touch you can move the slider to turn double tap on or off. Not sure about in Windows 10 mobile since neither my wife and I have Windows 10 on our phones. When I had my 925, I had Windows 10 & double tap worked just fine so I don't believe it can software restricted just my $0.02.

MS saying double tap to wake feature draining too much battery to be implemented in their new smartphones.

I not understand, my LG Flex 2 has double tap to wake, to sleep and holding me easy through the day.

If you want to give it a try , only 250$ and rocking the Snapdragon 810 with 3 Gigs of RAM

Never had a battery issue with my 1520 and this feature so they better come up with something better. The fact there is no definitive comment from Microsoft does note bode well for owners of these devices.

I just spent sometime adding feedback to 10+ existing double tap feedbacks complaining that my 950XL doesn't have it and I'm so used to it from my 920 and 930 and even N9! lol.

Double tap on the 640 has little if any effect on battery life. It's a shame if that it's causing problems on the 950.

My 950 XL doesn't have it on Windows 10 (10586.36) but my Lumia 920 has it in the same build (10586.36). I'm guessing it should be coming at some point.

I'm going to look for the feed and upvote it in the meanwhile.
