I never understood why Microsoft didn't include reset protection for the Lumias in all the regions.

Either ways, I have a 950XL DS India CV and would like to switch to a firmware which supports Reset protection. but also gets firmware upgrades on time (Don't care for OS upgrades, as I am always on the Release preview ring).

I believe the US firmwares support reset protection but are Single-sim only.

Does anyone know of a good unbranded firmware for the Dual-SIM model which supports reset protection?

Could you please elaborate a bit more about "reset protection"?
What is it?
Is it the possibility when resetting the phone, maintaining the same OS level?

Thanks.

Basically if you have Reset protection turned on, unless disabled, that phone can only be used with your MS account, even after a factory reset.

So if someone steals your phone, it is useless to them.

Reset protection is in the Settings
11996_en-us_6
> Updates & security > Find my phone area. When you sign into your Microsoft account using a PC web browser, under your devices you should see the reset protection status.

The firmware version is the same you post. I received the firmware as part of the normal Windows update process -- I am not using the Insider builds. I believe the phone is an RM-116. Tell me where to find it and I'll confirm.

Yeah, US made it compulsory for phones sold in the US to have reset-protection and while everyone else added this feature everywhere, MS has kept this US only.

Great, if you can post a screenshot of your settings-->system-->about here (remove the IMEI number(s)), it would be great.
