Stuck on Getting things ready

Just got the 950 today, turned on and just had the getting things ready message for 2 hours so far. How can I get past this?

Just tried to activate my new 950xl today and have exactly the same problem. tried removing and refitting battery to no avail?????

I did a hard reset which fixed it

What is the key press sequence for a hard reset on this phone? I can't even get it to switch off without removing the battery.

Take battery out. Put back in. Hold volume down and power button until it vibrates then let power button go
Keep holding volume down until exclamation mark appears on screen. Then it's volume up,down, power, volume down

Thanks for reply, I have already managed it, tried a few of the button press options and it eventually restarted without the hard reset 'exclamation mark' on screen.
Now seamlessly downloading all my apps and settings off my Lumia 1020 from One Drive.
