Why isn't Office 365 working on my Lumia 640?

Office 365 not working on my Lumia 640

I've bought my Lumia 640 few weeks ago and just recently I remembered that I have, at least I was supposed to have, free 1yr acces to Office 365. So i downloaded Office 365 Gift app from the store, installed it, opened, and bam. It says it doesn't work in my region even though it's set to US, even my language and keyboard are set to freeking US eng. Now, that same Office is one of the reasons i bought this phone and now it's telling me i can't install it. It would make much more sense if MS had it pre-installed. Now does anyone know how to make it work or it's a dead end?

It's a real shame that you didn't attempt it when you first got it.

The Free 1 year access to Office 365 is something that expired on June 30, 2015. Not having actually purchased a 640 nor having read the terms of the offer, I'm not sure if that was a purchase by or activate by date. Perhaps someone will come along and clarify this.
