Well i was waiting for this day for long!
The second Tuesday of December.
i'm eagerly looking forward to a firmware update for surface to fix a lot of bugs I'm facing.
like sometimes late initial response of on screen keyboard keypress
Who all are hopeful of some major updates today?

December Update

The December update should be released sometime today. Two questions:

A) Will they make good on fixing the Surface 2 issues with the crashing display and the problems waking the devices from a sleep?

B) What item/feature that has worked up until now, will the latest update break?

well yeah I was also hoping the display driver crash would resolve
Decreased charge time is insane! It already charges up pretty quick IMO

Yeah, low volume.

Now granted, its only 10 AM Eastern in US but just checked and I was updated already today and only defender updated.

No NVidia driver fix is flat out disgusting after they told costumers to not return their units because the fix was coming on December 10th. If its not in there, a class action lawsuit should be formed. They talked people out of returning their units before their return eligible date came.

Nothing in the Update History about it so I doubt it. As far as I know they haven't even officially recognized that there is an audio issue.

Yeah I feel like it's a hardware issue and they know it. If it was a software issue, they would say they'll fix it, but they won't admit that they shipped a half million units with bad speakers.

I fear this as well, which is why I'm waiting until the new year to exchange my Surface 2. Hopefully by then they'll have the issue (hardware or whatever it may be) worked out by then). The funny thing is at my local Microsoft Store every Surface 2 they have on display (about 6 I think) has the exact same issue.

Just finished. Got 22 "updates" and it took a while.

A couple of things occurred. During the reboot and update phase, it said it got an error (internal power error) but seemed to recover. Then, after it came up, I checked the history and it said that a firmware update was pending restart. So, I rebooted, manually.

Will see what happens.
