Touchscreen scrolling choppyness!

Hey Guys!
Been waiting for my SP3 here in Denmark for quite some time, and now its finally here on my desk!!! Weehuu!

Overall I'm very very happy with the device, but I find the touchscreen and scrolling not at all as responsive or buttery smooth as my old Surface 2 or my GFs iPad.. it seem to be kinda choppy or jittery, most notable when surfing, but also on the start screen or any other app.. this is only when you scroll with a finger on the screen.. if you just flick the screen its a completely smooth animation!

'm worried something's wrong with my device, but I've tested 2 other SP3s in the store, and they exhibit the same behavior!

So I'm kinda torn, should I contact support? Is this just how the touchscreen behaves on an SP3, and I'm too picky? Has anyone else experienced this?
Or maybe there is some software fix I'm not aware of.. everything else with my SP3 is near perfect! :/

If you are experiencing this with Chrome or some other non-IE browsers, this is a known issue. There is a fix for Chrome using a registry change. I only use IE so I don't have a link.

If you are getting jittery response on all apps, check to see if the CPU is busy with something.

Have you guys tried toggling the smooth scrolling setting under Internet Options > Advanced Tab of desktop IE? Try with the option both enabled and disabled and be sure to close Metro IE before making the change.

Problem is that the choppiness isn't just in IE, tho its where its most noticeable, it's pretty much everywhere, as if the touch screen isn't picking up inputs as often as it should, and cant track the finger properly!

I have the same problem and made a thread about it. Is there a fix for it? My surface 2 was alot more smoother.

Noticed this on mine too... It's not a huge issue, just not as smooth as if could be.

Hi all,

i have exactly the same issue and posted this here:

surfaceforums.net/threads/slow-scrolling-in-modern-ui-internet-explorer-is-jerky-choppy-and-not-smooth.12976/

I have not found this post here before.
All in all, do anyone have a solution for this issue? If not, i hope microsoft will fix this.

And the important point is, that you could not "realize" this issue without a direct comparison with e.g. a surface pro 2. In all tests and magazines no one have ever said something about that issue, but this issue is still existing on all Surface pro 3 computers?! I think so. :unhappy:

Hi I am experiencing exactly the same issue but on my lumia 630. I cant find any forum covering this so i start looking everywhere on any device if someone have similar issue. I am starting to thing that some devices are just build this Way and that its normal but what bugs me is that everywhere in every review and forum nobody report that as an issue
