Why is my Surface Pro 4 refusing me to sign in?

Why is my surface pro 4 refusing me to sign in???

Just got a replacement of the surface pro 4 from Microsoft last night. I can login to the device, and use it. However, when i go to settings--> accounts to sign in to my Microsoft account, it asks my for the old password!! None of the password works!

By the way, I did not experience this problem on my old surface pro 4.

That is certainly very strange, indeed. I had an issue where it wouldn't let me log into my MS account. It was fixed by creating a local account and then turning it into an MS account like 30 minutes later. I guess their servers were a little wonko.
