Connect to another Surface/PC via USB?

Hey folks,

I'm not sure if I quite saw this the way I think I did, but I seem to recall seeing in a video that you can connect the SurfaceRT to another Surface/PC via use of direct USB cable connection.

Is this actually possible? As far as I recall, direct USB-to-USB connection between computers is not usually possible, and can even damage the USB ports as you're effectively sending 5V current directly from one to the other. (But that said, networking via FireWire has always been possible...)

However, obviously with the advent of tablets like the Android-powered units etc, direct USB connection has become possible, though they usually go from microUSB or a proprietary interface... I'd love to be able to direct-connect my Surface to transfer content between machines, if it's safe/possible to do so, but I can't find anything online that either confrims or denies that possibility.

Can anyone confirm whether this works or not? (And hopefully not by frying your own unit to try it...!)
