Surface - Missing Apps after Update

After setting up my Surface, I went into the Windows Store and saw that there were 15 updates for all of the pre-installed apps. As I was updating the apps, there seemed to be an error on the last few and the progress bars stopped moving.

Once I exited the store and restarted the device, I noticed that the News app was no longer present. I went into the Windows Store to recover it, and it cannot be installed because it says I already have it.

Did anyone experience this problem or know of a solution to recover it without resetting the device?

Thank you!

This problem has an easy, if not unintuitive fix. After this happens, go into the store app, right-click/pull-down to bring up the "Your Apps" option. Click on "Your Apps," then on the pull-down menu of the next page click "All Apps."

You will see the affected apps in there, install them, and their tiles will be back where they were before the failed update. No need to reinstall the OS.
