Price went down, obviously.. But, here's the link. I have no problems with it, works with everything and anything. Don't even have to reformat it.

That one is made by Samsung. Straight from Korea it was shipped from, not china. And I've had no problems going from Macs to pcs to phones to tablets without formatting or anything. And I work on a lot of electronics because I'm a technician. From my professional view, you want something good, you're gonna pay for it.

SanDisk Ultra HDXC 1 here. We have three and have had zero issues across multiple platforms. Expensive? Yup, but I paid for no issues.

It doesn't need to to be formatted when switching devices.

I've got a "Strontium" (no, I'd not heard of them either) 64GB micro SDxC card. It's been fine.

SanDisk has been working fine for me. It almost never leaves my Surface though. I don't know if there's another brand with a better reputation, you can get a dud from anybody.

Sounds like you have one with a manufacture's defect. I can only reiterate that we have zero issues. No drops to speak of.
