Lumia 1020 battery dying off?

I'm worried my Lumia 1020's battery's dying. It seems to be draining really fast, to the point where even with minimal use I wouldn't expect it to last to the early evening having started the day on full charge. I've had it since launch so it's a few years old now - anyone else's battery going? Anything I can do about it? I've been holding on for a Surface Phone but it seems like it could still be a year away.

This is fairly normal for modern batteries. They wear out over time and hold less of a charge. Towards the end of its 1-2 year stint with me, my 920's battery life, while still fine, was noticeably poorer

While not as easy as the removable nature of some phones, the 1020's battery can be replaced and I highly recommend that option if you're particularly attached to your phone.

Thanks. Just seen a site mentioning how it's done and it involved cutting a heat sink link, which I'm not too keen on! I'll have to see how it goes and if I can hang on until the Surface Phone comes out!
