Hello everyone. I just got my 1520 in the mail! Yay! Awesome feel in the hand. But when I turned it on I didn't see an update to Denim. The seller told me and assured me it was a European version. So I went into the options and saw this:

Does this mean it's a Chinese variant and NOT European? Will I have any issues with bands and coverage? Because it's less than a year old (manufactured) and it says it's out of warranty! How can that be? Also, I checked the ##634# and there are no counters :s Strange. Right?

Thanks!

Mobile operator : 000-HK
So it is a Hong Kong Country variant = Chinese.
Guess the seller needs so additional geography lessons.
The no counter i do not know maybe because it is not used yet.
Probably the bands are no problem but i hope another one can confirm.
The warranty you check with the IMEI number is from production date and is probably 6 months. But please contact the seller for clarifications.

The RM-937 is a Euro compatible radio. Hong Kong has Euro and China compatible systems deployed.

No worries. Your HK variant will have no issues on Telef?nica M?viles Espa?a and is compatible through all their frequencies.

Your phone will update to Denim shortly, we hope. Check the many threads about the HK variant and Denim in this forum.

The HK variant of RM-937 shows up all over as a popular variant for easy plug and play in many countries, just as the RM-938 for Latin America shows up in the Caribbean, US and Canada.

Awesome! Thank you to you both. I am really enjoying my time with the 1520. If I love it still in 2-3 days, I'm sending my 930 back. The screen is much better on the 1520. Especially with my eyes, I see that the 1520 is much brighter. Hehe.

I plugged in my device to Windows Phone Recovery Tool, and I got the Denim Update. Since I loaded my phone "as new" I wasn't going to lose anything! And in fact, this time it picked up my backup from the 930. I'm sitting now waiting for everything to download down :) This could take a while! What a fantastic "little" phone this is!

Thanks again guys :).
