Difference between Nokia Lumia 1520 RM-940 (ATT) and RM-937 Int'l Version
Greetings. Purchased a Nokia Lumia 1520 RM-940 (refurbished) online. The company I purchased from gave a 1 year warranty. The phone and needs to be replaced, but they are out of stock, so they are going to buy me a brand new one.
I am very satisfied with the RM-940 on T-Mobile. I followed a guide on this forum on how to enable AWS1700Mhz/HSPA+ Band 4. While NOT on Wi-Fi, direct through my T-Mobile connection, I am getting 15-20 Mbps per Speedtest app. The phone also shows "T-Mobile LTE" in the upper left corner.
The company is looking at an RM-937 for replacement. What I need to know is what are the differences between the RM-937 and my current RM-940? Looking at the specs below, there seems to be a difference in the bands. How will this effect my internet speed on the RM-937 vs the RM-940? Is the complete lack of 1700 (1700/2100 band 4) on the RM-937 a deal killer? Will I be able to access any other usable bands using the guide in my previous paragraph? Is my current phone getting 4G LTE and if so, will the RM-937 also get that? I am pretty certain the RM-937 will get HPSA+ but I really don't know what that means or how fast it is.
These are the phones' band specs as per GSMARENA
2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - all versions
3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 - RM-937, RM-939, RM-940
HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 - RM-938
4G bands LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800) - RM-937
LTE band 2(1900), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 17(700) - RM-938,RM-940
As a final note, I know the RM-938 is the most desired version of this phone. The 1520 RM-937 is about $300 on Amazon. Is there anywhere to get the RM-938 in that price range?
I did brouse through a couple threads, but they were both old, from 2013. Maybe some of these answers are still valid, but they are two yeas old so I made a new thread.
