Been hearing rumours that the O2 devices may be unlocked. Anybody in the UK bought one and tried it with another sim?

Not the phone, but the sim. If you purchased a lumia 620 from Tesco Mobile, it will only work on Tesco Mobile, as they lock to the MVNO subset of the network.

If you purchase the phone from O2, a Tesco Mobile sim will work, as they use the O2 network.
