Is the Lumia 620 an unlocked phone that can be used in the USA on both AT&T and T-Mobile (and their no-contract MVNO's) as well as usable abroad and on GSM networks. Does this kind versatility even exist as an option with the smaller form factor Lumia phones (620, 521, 520)?

620 does not support the Bands needed for T-Mobile 4g Network (would be 2g only), But does support Bands needed for AT&T 3.5g HSPA Network.

Would you happen to know if there are any unlocked Nokia Lumia small form factor models that would work on both AT&T and T-Mobile 3G or HSPA+ bands. (LTE not important/necssary). On Amazon would the "factory unlocked international version" meet this criteria, or as you stated in your post, would those also be limited to 2G on T-Mobile?

521 works on both tmobile and at&t(but has to be unlocked). Tmobile will unlock after certain conditions are meant. If you can find a unlocked version of 521 that would be the best.

Actually, T-Mobile is in the process of refarming their 1900 Mhz bands, so cities where the refarm has been done, the 620 will get HSPA+ (4G) speeds on T-Mobile. This map shows where T-Mobile has refarmed their 1900 Mhz spectrum.

Not completely true. Well, it depends on your location, of course. My mother uses a 620 on T-Mobile (we're in the NYC area) and she gets H and H+ showing on her phone all the time. I've actually yet to see it show 2G at all.
