Why is the top of the screen on my 620 unresponsive?

620 - top of screen unresponsive

Hi
I have 2 issues with my Lumia 620 and I was wondering if anyone else had the same and if they had managed to fix them or had any advice.
1. The top 6mm of my screen is unresponsive and was prior to 8.1
This previously wasn't much of a problem ( if I need to type in a google search I just turned the phone to landscape) but now I can't use the new notifications feature and even worse in the camera App I can't change to front camera/macro etc easily (it does work ocasionally after a huge number of tries)
2. My capacitive bing button doesn't work - but the other two do! ( this isn't such an issue)

Note - I have the screen issue with and without a screen protector.

I would suggest getting a new digitizer as yours appears to be damaged and that's the only way to fix it.

Either that or get a newer phone. Which ever works for you.

I have a cracked screen (small one in the corner) and I haven't fixed it as the phone is only worth ?40 for trade in and the digitizer cost that much.

Thanks - I decided to upgrade and picked up a mint 820 on ebay.
