This was just announced yesterday, so it is fresh news. Also Sprint will launch the 635 in January.

Do the Sprint versions of Lumia 635s have different specs and different radios, or do they just use a different firmware?

I haven't seen any specs yet, but they will definitely have different radios since Sprint still uses CDMA for Voice as opposed to GSM.

It maybe cheaper than boost or virgin mobile variant, for the plans to run it; it is not worth the hassle.

Boost $45 plan is unlimited talk/text with 5gb of data. In which you have access to all 3 bands of Sprint's LTE. Last I check, there nothing unlimited with AT&T's data.

Unlimited talk and text, and data. 1gb at lte, then 128k after. Similar to Virgin Mobile. But that's with the Refill cards in stores.
