Can I update my Nokia Lumia 810 to windows 8.1?

Nvm. I got it to update... I'm a tmobile user. I simply learn how to flash the Lumia 810. I found a .ffu file that made my phone update into a different update. Than a day after I had that flash installed. I received an update in my Lumia 810 phone. And after I updated my phone. I got to use the preview for developers. Now. Really loving my phone. So just learn to flash a phone guys. the Nokia update for retailer and phone recovery or whatever doesn't work or support Lumia 810. So just flash the phone. And you'll get the update. And after the update. Get the "preview for developer" app. than you can take it from there.

It looks quite tricky to me.
1. Lumia 810 stucks at Nokia Lumia Amber (based on Windows Phone 8 Update 2, GDR2);
2. It could be updated to Windows Phone 8 Update 3 (GDR3), then Windows Phone 8.1 with enabling "Preview for Developers" App on Windows Phone Preview for Developers ? Windows app development

3. Only runing on Windows Phone 8.1, Lumia 810 is eligible to be updated to Windows 10 Mobile with joining Windows Insider Program.

My Nokia 521 just died, literally ... will not even turn on. My brother sent me his old Lumia 810 and now I need to find out how, at this late date I can get the 8.1 update from 8.0 for this phone. I really miss my 8.1 phone and I miss Cortana.
Please help me get back . . .
I have briefly looked at the developer preview, but as of yet have not been able to find the right site.

Where did you find this file? My 521 WP8.1 just died yesterday and am trying to get my backup Lumia 810 upgraded to 8.1. Really miss those features.

What is a hard reset, and what exactly happens to your phone? Should I remove my SIM and Micro SD card before I do it?
