Does anyone know if the 820 is going to have a BSI? Because we were told that the 820 has a better camera than any competing smartphone out now. If this is true and it does, it will make it much easier for me to swallow having to get the 820 over the 920 because of Verizon and use it until Verizon gets a true 900+ series Lumia.

I'm currently an Android user, and am seriously considering WP8 phones. I'm honestly thinking on getting it at first only to do development (I'm a software developer) but if I like it and can get into the ecosystem, then I may jump in headfirst. Now, while I'm a software dev, I'm also a photographer, and the camera question is going to be the main deciding factor between my buying an 820 vs a 920 (if 820 has the same camera, I'm buying off contract, so it would be quite a bit cheaper for me to get it). Does anyone know if they're going to have remotely the same capability and clarity? Is Nokia putting PureView into both phones? Thank you.

Update : No Gorilla glass, no HAAC audio recording, no pureview, I don't think I would go for the 820 finally I'd rather get a higher data package and stream music if needed than having more memory on board.

but maybe on a one year contract waiting until the Pureview WP8 phones get better MPx and HAAC stereo recording and not mono.

Nevermind, apparently someone found out for me in this thread. Looks like it's going to be the 920 for me.

Yup

The information you found is 100% correct. But I am willing to live without a pureview as long as it is better than the 900. As I stated before, It was said that the 820 will have a camera that is "As good or better" than any camera phone out today, obviously that statement doesn't take into account the 808 but that is to be expected.

If Verizon only gets the 820 from nokia this year, I will have to compromise and get it to hold me through the spring where I would expect to finally see a high end nokia.

Looking at specs , the 820 camera should be on Par with 900.

The Camera specs are the same has the 900 expect. The 820 has 4x Zoom, while the 900 has a 3x Zoom. Else specs look the same once again.

We will only know once somebody get's a hand on review and post pic's taken between the 820 and 900.

I hope it's not the 900 camera in the 820. Average at best camera in those 900s.
