Updated to Portico now the issues begin

The two issues I have now after the update:

1. SD card no longer recognized when it was working prior to the update.
2. Win 8 sync app doesn't recognize the phone anymore, just an error saying some is wrong with the phone.

Can anyone here help on this? I have tried soft and hard reset and nothing changed.

I did another hard reset and now the SD card works and I can sync again.
