Phone won't turn on?

My Nokia Lumia 820 won't turn on. It died, so I plugged it in and left it. It vibrated every few seconds and turned on, only to be stopped by the red battery with the flashing charger. It's been doing this for at least half an hour. Nothing I do will turn it on. I took out the battery and the dot was red, but there has been absolutely no water damage. The phone's water indicator is completely white. Help?
