OK I am coming from a Nexus 4 which hasn't exactly got the most stunning of displays but I feel somewhat let down by the L820, The black yes are very black, but the whites have a yellow tint to them and everything in general has a whiteish tint to it and it looks washed out, undersaturated sums it up

Is there anyway to fix this or is it just my phone?

And secondly, Its been on the charger over 2 hours now and its still only at 19%, admittedly I have been playing with it but damn that's slow to charge is this normal?

No, it's not normal to charge so slow. Mine in about an hour and smth it's full.

Also, if you don't like how the colors look, there is a setting in Color Profile to alter the temperature of the colors, from Cool to Vivid. Look there.

That is not normal charging at all, it should be around full or so by then. Something is definitely amiss.

Check in the settings under display (I think) and fiddle with the Lumia Color Profile options.

Thanks guys, so it seems it was downloading updates in the background, 6 to be installed it seems, could this of slowed the charge down? Bit worried as it is only a new phone

You were downloading phone updates in the background? Yes, that tends to affect how battery performs usually, yes :)

You'll see that after your phone is up to date your battery and charging will be much better.

As far as the display is concerned, you have stumbled upon the difference between LCD and AMOLED technology. The Nexus 4 has and IPS LCD screen whereas the Lumia 820 has and AMOLED screen. Amoled screens are known to have better dark colors while the whites are yellowish in tint. The saturation differences may be just due to the way the screen was calibrated in production. Plus the fact that the Nexus 4 has a 4.7 inch 768 x 1280 pixel display while the L820 only has a 4.3 inch 480x800 pixel display you can definitely see the difference.
