My old nokia lumia 900's screen cracked and wouldn't work, so I had to get a new one. I backed up all the files onto my computer (macbook pro os x 10.6.8) using Windows Phone Connector so that when I got my new phone I could transfer all the files from my old phone onto it. However, I discovered that for some stupid reason the backup only works with the specific phone you backed it up from.
I tried putting the old phone's backup into the new phone's folder and clicked restore, but it still wouldn't transfer. Is there a way to make the phone think that the backup is from that one so I can transfer all the files (contacts, etc.) onto it? All feedback is appreciated!
