I just updated my Nokia Maps version to 2.5.29.357 and it appears there is no longer an offline maps capability on my L900.

Checked on the Nokia Maps 2.5 support website and it confirms:
Does Nokia Maps in Nokia Lumia with Windows Phone 7 work offline? - Nokia FAQ

No, you need an online connection in using Nokia Maps for Windows Phone 7. The map data is streamed on as needed basis and it is not cached.
Note that offline support is included in Nokia Maps for Windows Phone 8.

NOT happy :( Why would they take away this feature?

Edited: yes, false alarm! I guess my memory failed me... sorry!
