Nokia update showing available - should I do it?

If I run this update will my phone be wiped? I certainly don't want that so is there any way to backup my phone and restore it after the update?

If it's an OS update your phone will be automatically backed up by the Zune software during the update and won't be wiped, your data stays in place.

For the most part... wipes do not happen. But if it bricks, a wipe may be needed.

Thx, I asked cause when I went from 7.5 to 7.8 I lost all my apps and the phone reset to default.
