So after MS kindly gave me a 920 at Build last year, my 900 went to my wife, who went ahead and dropped it face down on some concrete...

Glass is cracked (spiderwebbed over the whole thing). But the display still works, and responds to touch properly.

I found the threads & videos about replacing the screen assembly, so for about 80 bucks I figure might as well.

But in searching EBay, I see that there are now a bunch of listings for glass only (about $10 with tools). The warnings are that "This is the Glass ONLY, you need the whole Digitizer panel if your touchscreen doesn't work", and "screen lens is fragile and hard to replace".

Is it worth it to try to replace the glass only? Would save about $70?

I would go ahead and get the screen with the digitizer to save all the hassle with glueing anything and trying to clean up the glass off the digitizer. Plug and play.

Is the replacement Touchscreen Glass and Digitizer seller for the 928 similar in that once you separate from the back cover, it's just reconnecting a few cables and snapping the back cover on?
