Took this on my way back from work today. Wish I had a tripod with me, the static parts of the shot are fuzzy. Not bad for a 4s exposure, though, for cold, shaking hands (if I may say so myself) thanks to OIS!

Glowing Mesa Arch during sunrise, at Canyonlands National Park, Utah, USA.

Mesa Arch Sunrise.jpg

The spot may look empty, but there were actually DOZENS of other photographers trying to capture this beautiful natural wonder.

As part of writing myself a blog about the camera sensor of my DSLR, I attempted to take comparative pictures with my Lumia 920 (1/3.2″ sensor, 8.7 MP), my Nikon Coolpix S6100 (1/2.3″ sensor, 16.44MP), and my Nikon D5300 DSLR (1.8" sensor, 24.78MP). I was trying to compare the pics for sharpness, noise, contrast in contrast to sensor size and pixel size. It was difficult trying to match the effective focal length of the L920 with the other cameras to get a pic with a similar field of view. I am doing this sort of thing as an educational exercise because I want to learn more about cameras and photography as I find this stuff fascinating.
