I don't know if it's the way it's supposed to be or not, but I need to know whether or not to return it..
Call quality is a little weird.. when listening to the other person talk it doesn't sound clear. I dont know if I have to adjust the equalizer, or if that's how it is or if the phone is defective.
Also, the vibrate rattles like crazy.
Please let me know.

i think i've had the opposite experience compared to you
I was on the phone with ATT rep for about 30mins trying to resolve issues
I had the phone on speaker the whole time
Not sure if it matters, but I was on LTE the whole time
I did not hear static the entire time and voice quality was as clear as music

I've noticed the voice quality isn't the greatest.
I'm coming off an iphone though, and it had excellent quality.
To be honest, I hardly ever talk on my phone so it's not a deal breaker for me.
Don't get me wrong though, the quality is good. It's just not as crisp as my iphone. In my opinion, the l920 overall is leaps and bounds better than my iPhone so I'm willing to make that small sacrifice.
Can't believe I've spent the last 6 years of my life using an iPhone after only spending a day with this phone.

I have noticed any issues as yet with call quality. Coming from the Lumia 900, so far seems about the same. But its only been one day.

Ok so I'm starting to think it's just the way it is. The call quality isn't bad, but it isn't the greatest and I would say below normal.
What about the major rattling on vibrate?
So far my phone works great. I don't see any dead pixels, the phone is gorgeous. I've never been so happy with a phone before.
Still gonna wait for other responses. Maybe I'm nit picking.
