I think someone's peeling are hurt..

Sent from my HTC Titan 2 using Board Express

I think it's more entertaining that you coulding spell feeling (# 1) and didn't use feelings (# 2) in your click-bait response to my post. Also, your signature says you are posting from an HTC 8X but your tagline at the end of your post says an HTC Titan 2. Which is it?

By the way, I don't get butthurt over something I read on a message board. What I do get tired of are people that make generalizations and act as if they are speaking on behalf of or in addition to this ever widening population of users that have issues with their Lumia 920. Based on all the issues its simply amazing you keep your phone.

I honestly think people were expecting some sort of DSLR out of this camera. All of the posts about not being able to take pics in pitch black situations, softer photos, etc. It's on par during the day with my iPhone and better at night. I do notice you need a slightly steadier hand at night, but nothing terrible. To each his own. The camera is not even on my list of issues with this phone.

To each his own.

This.

The Lumia 920 was never going to be everyone's cup of tea. If you like it - great. If you don't - that's fine too.

I don't lurk around the iPhone forums and Android forums and complain to them about how bad their phones are. Sell the phone, leave the community. Don't fan the flames and start turf wars.

The hardware is actually very good for a phone - maybe the best out there right now aside from the Pureview 808. The in-camera processing software isn't very good yet, which accounts for some of the sharpness and CA issues it has. I've heard that they're working on fixing it.

^ Yes.. I agree.. I hope that they can extract the maximum out of it by the end of the year :) But even in its current state.. its still the best camera package out there. The only two phones that are better are Nokia's own N8 and 808.

Can't say I agree at all. I've used an iPhone 4S camera and my wife's Evo LTE 4G (HTC One X, i.e. the same camera in the 8x).
The fact that they have identical camera modules doesn't necessarily mean that they will perform in exactly the same way under two completely different operating systems. Just saying.. general info.

Ain't THAT the truth. The Dell Venue Pro and the iPhone 4 have the same camera and the DVP had the worst smartphone camera image quality I have ever seen.

True, but if anything, Android 4.x seems to be far more mature in terms of default camera software, and HTC loaded even more options in their latest version of Sense. Their camera "add-ons" for Windows Phone are prettttttty sparse in comparison.

I think the average user could care less about camera options. They want to just take a picture and have it come out looking good. If that is not the case, they dismiss the camera as "sucky". And that's fair enough. While I consider myself more knowledgable than most, I often don't want to screw with my filters, lenses, etc. I want to pull the camera out of my pocket, snap a few pics, and put it away. That, IMO, is what a phone camera is all about. Give us sharp pics in the daytime and you have a winner here Nokia!

I have to agree with the OP . I came over from an iPhone and my wife has the iPhone 5. My pictures lack alot of sharpness/detail compared to my 3gs,4s,and her iPhone 5. Its really no contest. I understand some people have said its a phone bug because during live view its sharp but once the shutter takes over it softens buy what if its not? What if the screen is just sharper than the image quality if the sensor? The camera and GPS were my main reason for getting the phone and both are bad. In comparison to other flag ships. I called Nokia today about it and was told by a rep and then a Lumia "specialist" its a phone issue and I would have to send the phone in to get checked out.
I've read that you have to make the camera work for you to get it great pictures but you should have to. It should just work. The sg3, iPhone, one x just work. Point and shoot . That's how all camera phones should be

I called too originally to see if there was an update coming out and they said basically, thats the way it is and I can return it if I felt it was a bad unit. Don't even get me started on nokia drive. ugh

very interestings. Note the screen shot image size is much smaller and my hand did move while snapping the screenshot.

Taken by holding shutter half-way and then doing a screen snapshot BEFORE shooting pic.

Taken using close-up settings, and touch-to-snap

I had a 920 for a week or so, and now I have an 820. I have absolutely nothing concrete to base this on, but I think the pictures from the 820 I have are better than the 920 I had.

...

That said, there are TONS of options in both devices cameras, none of which I even think about modding. Like the user above said, I just want to pull my phone out, snap a few shots, and put it away. I can say that in both cases I've turned off the focus assist light. I can also say that trying to take pics on either phone using the side-button is an exercise in futility. Tapping the screen generates much more in-focus pics. :)

Generally, manufacturers won't confirm an update is coming until it's ready to be pushed out to the actual devices.

Nokia Drive+ BETA you mean?

The beta software? What's wrong? Is it acting like beta software?
