Opening texts from lockscreen

I can't quite figure out how exactly to open new texts from the lock screen. It always takes me between 2 and 5 taps to get it open. Is it a double tap needed? Do I need to tap a certain part of the notification? Any help would be appreciated!

Tap right in the center of the bar. That always takes me directly to the text.

Do you have a lockscreen-password? if so: I don't think you can open the message just by tapping on the notification bar the password being activated...at least it doesn't make sense... I for myself have my password activated and never "could" open new messages by just tapping on the bar... at least I never tried because I new I had to unlock the screen first...


edit: i don't have WP8 though... using wp7.5 on my Arrive

I think this works for me as well. More testing to come.
