Nokia Lumia 920 RM-820 RM-821 RM-822 what's the difference?

Just different versions for different carriers and the different parts of the world.

so technically they are the same phone/hardware but different coding numbers or maybe different power plug options for different parts of the world. am i right?

They're 4 different phones with 4 different looks and sets of specs. You'll have to look up the specs on Nokia's site. In the US the 920 and 820 are on AT&T and the 822 is on Verizon. Not sure offhand where the 821 resides.

that could make sense where did you find it it might have something about the RM-822 there is also RM-867 but thats for the Lumia 920T which is the china version with better GPU

RM820 is the North American variant. Has pentaband UMTS (850/900/1700/1900/2100) and North American LTE bands.
RM821 is rest-of-world (except China). Has quadband UMTS (850/900/1900/2100) and European LTE bands.
RM822 is a China-specific variant.

Nokia's web site has some info but it's actually incorrect for the RM820, which is not only for AT&T. Rogers Canada's 920 is also RM820 and has the bands I listed above.

Interesting that the RM-822 is pentaband UMTS.

I had to dig up this thread as I was looking at Navifirm and the number of versions each of these products have, I had a question : Has a RM-821 owner flashed RM-820? Does it happen successfully? Does it change? Does it brick?

...and another question:

Can RM-821 user flash any of the unlocked versions out there? i.e. EE, UK customer being able to flash Orange, France version?

I've tried to flash a RM-820 on my RM-821... it doesn't work. NCS will not let you do it.

To your second question, yes. You can flash any RM-821 FW to your RM-821 you find on Navifirm. You may discover different brandings, but that's about it. I have an Italian 920 running an unbranded CV GB FW right now, with no issues whatsoever.

Hope this helps!

I have a question. I have rm-821 and have the Philippines variant. Recently I updated to 1308 thru nokia software updater. When I check my lte bands using ##3282, my bands list as band 2, band 4, band 5 and band 17. How is this possible given that my device is rm-821 and flashed the legit fw for my device?

brief question I broke the digitizer on my lumia 920 rm820 with the digitizer on the 920t or 920 phillipino version work. I know theyre the same measurements but the connection for the bottem three buttons to the board could potentially be different does anyone know if they are?

so just to confirm, the unlocked AT&T version (RM820) should work fine by default on any Canadian network with LTE capability? It's a bit confusing as I thought AT&T LTE runs on 700/1700 and I'm sure Canadian networks run LTE on the 1700/2100. Will it also work on the AWS (1700/2100 again) carriers Wind/Mobilicity with full 3G/4G (but not LTE) network functionality?

I'm sorry if the questions I asked seem repetitive. It's just that I've had my eyes set on the 920 for so long now and now that I can finally afford one from ebay.com (NOT the lousy ebay.ca) I don't want to make a mistake. Thanks! :)

RM-821, Global variant: EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100, LTE band 1 (2100), 3 (1800), 7 (2600), 8 (900) & 20 (800), LTE Cat 3 (100 Mbps Downlink, 50 Mbps Uplink), HSDPA+ Cat24 (42.1 Mbps), HSUPA Cat 6 (5.76 Mbps)
RM-820, AT&T variant: EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100, LTE band 4 (1700/2100) & 17 (700), LTE Cat 3 (100 Mbps Downlink, 50 Mbps Uplink), HSDPA+ Cat24 (42.1 Mbps), HSUPA Cat 6 (5.76 Mbps)
RM-822, China variant: EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100 and 1700/2100, HSDPA+ Cat14 (21 Mbps), HSUPA Cat 6 (5.76 Mbps)

So, if I flashed RM-821 on a RM-820 (AT&T), will the specs change to the global variant or it's just the software installed but still RM-820 frequencies?
