Any recommendations for a battery app? I have gone through a few and have some informal notes. I'm happy to pay but want to make sure the app provides decent data with no noticeable effect on battery life.

    The ones I have tried:

Battery Level for WP8 - Seems okay but users reporting the graphs have been broken with last update. Need to pay to see graphs so can't attest to its accuracy
Battery Sense - Seems to drain my battery a lot
Battery Status - Seems okay but I am not seeing graph data. Maybe a reboot is required?

I'm using Battery Widget which has a few more graphs that shows more information on battery usage. Doesn't drain my battery either.

    Try "Battery Widget".

Free (ad supported) and shows a good number of stats, and also a graph.

No problem with Battery Sense for me. Actually i'm getting unbelievable battery life ever since I started using it lol. Well to be fair, I also uninstalled Skype Beta at the same time.

You're not the only one.... I went from just about draining my whole battery on daily usage to only 40% as soon as I installed it.... I prefer and use Battery Level for WP8, but kept Battery Sense installed and pinned just because of the mega increase in battery life.

Battery Widget was probably a cause of my huge battery drain today, it seems to be draining battery when your phone is working (not in standby).

I am personally using Battery status and I am happy with it, although last 1-2 updates broke user experience a bit.
On the plus side, this app is frequently updated and is my current choice for quick and detailed information about battery.

One thing to note, every now and then when you update the app with new version of it, it gets broken, you got some funny tile behaviour, graphs don't work etc.
What I always do then, is to uninstall the app and install it again.

You loose your history, but not a problem for me.

Battery Status is my choice and also, it has proven not to affect my battery :)
