When the Lumia 900 launched, it was the second best selling phone on AT&T comprising almost 25% of AT&T's non-iPhones sold.

Well, now the Lumia 920 is out. Can it replicate the success the 900 had?

I mean, Nokia sold 700000 Lumias in the US. If we assume AT&T sold 400000, that would mean that Lumias (probably all 920s) comprised of one quarter of AT&T's total non-iPhone sales, making the Lumia 920 AT&T's second top selling phone (top non-iPhone).

Would any one have any hard data to back up my estimate?

PS: If the Lumia 920 can only manage to sell 400000 units, why would anybody but Apple launch their devices on AT&T, especially AT&T exclusives? I mean, devices like the Motorola Atrix HD probably sells less than 100000 units. I doubt devices like that can even break even.

No offense, but this is ****** spin.

The 900 was not successful and barely made a dent. I dont care if they were rated #1,2,3,4,5 on att website or Amazon. They didn't sell a lot of units and definitely not enough to be considered successful. The quarter after the 900 came out, the lumia sales dropped for nokia if I can recall correctly. If it didnt, it sure didn't grow.

920 will have a tough time as well. Especially with the supply issues that they had, there was much more excitement for the 920, but those that could not get it due to supply issues probably moved on to another phone.

I thinkt he sales would of been higher if they supplied a little bit more, but I understand Nokia had to be cautious as they dont want inventory building up.

You do realise that very few smartphone models reach a million mark on any carrier in US? iPhone is in a totally different league. 300,000 units of any model is a decent success in US.

900 never had a good chance to be a big seller. It was a single core and the news about WP8 basically killed the sales. Given the circumstances I think it did okay.

I think 920 on the other hand is doing very well and don't disagree with the OP's argument. I think 920 was either 2nd or 3rd best selling at AT&T. Probably a close 3rd behind GS3.
