I didn't jump on the 1308 update. Glad I didn't! As of now my phone is running great. It didn't take long for the fallout after the 1308 release. 1314 dosen't seem to have all the traffic! Unless all the 920s are bricked! LOL!

So is it safe to update to 1314? Or give it more time?

    Peace!

Not read of issues so as with all updates, its your call. Working fine here... for me the benefits far outweigh 0 issues.

My 920 is updating at the moment. The downside is that it started 1.5 hours ago. So in short my phone is unusable until it's done, but when? Anyone experienced this?

Here is a useful poll dealing with the connectivity issues associated with 1308 and 1314.

    http://forums.windowscentral.com/nok...ll-1701-a.html

Based on this poll, it appears to me that 1314 also causes connectivity issues. It also appears that 1314 may be better in this regard than 1308, although 1314 may cause other connectivity problems than 1308 did.

In any event, based on this poll, I do not consider it safe to upgrade to 1314 from 1249 or earlier. I will be awaiting the feedback from a future update before I will consider updating to a new level of Nokia's firmware.

Only 49 people voted in that poll, and of that only 3 said they had connectivity issues with 1314. I personally had big issues with 1308 and I spoke up about it right away, here and on other forums. Since I downloaded 1314 my phone has been preforming as good or better than it ever has. If 1314 had the connectivity issues 1308 did, we would know about it by now. 1314 is perfectly safe to download.

Thanks! I'll be in a Wi-Fi zone the next day or so. I'll most likely update then. Darn my phone is running so fine right now. But I just don't see the wide spread complaining as was with 1308.

same. 1314 update fixed my connectivity issue with the 1308 update. About 4 days into it and have not had a single issue with it, as opposed to 1308 where the connectivity problem was instantaneous.

I agree with the majority here. I have not had any of the connectivity issues with 1314 that I had with 1308. I would also agree that it would be a safe bet to upgrade.

    Is the 1314 update safe?
Yes, it’s not going to bite you.

Can it mess up your phone?
    Sure, but very unlikely.

Did the 1314 update fix my connection issues that 1308 caused?
Yes. In fact, the 1308 update actually fixed my auto brightness issue that was beating me down. 1314 added a little magic dust on top of 1308 to fix the data/cell connection 1308 caused.

4 out of 5 Lumia 920 owners recommend updating to 1314. The last one was on 1308 so they never received the question.

So far, so good here.. I had issues with 1308... Didn't realize it till the wife complained about me not replying to texts, which apparently I never received. I wonder if there was a connection between the 1308 update and 1408 movie?

Anyhow, no known issues that I can tell on 1314

Update has been just fine so far I believe its beneficial overall compared to 1308 update as I have seen an increase in battery life especially while idle just what I have noticed anyway, No connectivity issues anymore as well. I love the 920. :)

Can I skip 1308 and go straight to 1314 or any later releases? I'm also interested in finding out the way to remove the downloaded but not installed 1308 update from my phone. Thanks!
