Shouldn't unlocked devices get updates first? Just about every other OS works that way.

How does it work for someone like me who bought a phone from Rogers on launch, and recently unlocked it to jump ship to Wind? It's still Rogers-branded. Are we clumped in with the Rogers folks, or a special pile of rejects?

You should still get it from Rogers.

You WILL get it when Rogers push out the update.

I have an unlocked Rogers 920 that I'm using in the Caribbean. When Rogers push updates, I get them.

It is just unlocked not unbranded so yours is still a Rogers brand...

I bought my 920 at Amazon USA. It is used in Venezuela with Telefonica Movistar as carrier. The box of the mobile says it is for East Africa and UK, with warranty in Uganda. The OS is 8.0.10211.204 the firmware: 12325957.1308.0001 Firmware Update Notifier 1.0.1.7. The question is, will I receive my upgrade AMBER via OTA? I have to add that no WP8 are sale in the country yet, only the WP7.8

What do you guys think this "approval" process even means re: the carriers? Is some AT&T employee sitting in a cubicle eating Twinkies with an updated Lumia 920 waiting around to make sure it doesn't explode for a certain amount of time?
