Black update problems

Read a few people having same issue...volume not going up and down on youtube and media, also music. Tried soft reset not working for me.
This definitely happened after update.

then Hard rest is the only option for you, I didn't have that problem in my 2 devices

I find this all a bit odd as my problem seemed to fix itself after a few days... So i thought it maybe due to an app of some sort not being updated after the black update. Unfortunately the problem reared it's ugly head again yesterday. A restart solved it this time, but no idea what's causing it.
The last thing i want to be doing is a hard reset.
