Wow, you guys are getting some great shots! I just got my Lumia 925 yesterday. I do not have any pictures to share but I do want to share some thoughts on the camera.

First of all, it takes AMAZING photos when lighting conditions are good. It's sharper than my 920 and the white balance is definitely an improvement. Also, I love the new Nokia Camera app. The front facing camera is better too :)

However, I am a bit disappointed in the low light performance (so far). The amount of noise I see in darker lighting conditions is insane! The pictures do come out much brighter (which is kind of annoying in daytime when the sun is already super bright, but it's not bad) but even after the image processing there's still quite a bit of noise.

Is this normal with the 925 or did I just get a bad camera? I will spend more time with the camera and post some examples soon.

Edit: Just took a short test video in low light, very noisy as well :( I will try resetting my camera, see if that does anything.

Edit: Pressing the "reset camera" button didn't do anything. Also noticed that videos are noisier than photos, but that is usually the case with most cameras. I just feel like the 925's camera is noisier than the 920's.

MDak280 - I only have a 521, but if I use fully automatic exposure in low light the pictures are often noisy, because the camera chooses very high ISOs (even as high as 1600+) and those are noisy. When I want a relatively noiseless low light shot I use manual exposure and make sure ISO is 200 or less. That requires a steady hand, of course, or a tripod.

Hmm, there doesn't seem to be an exposure option on the Nokia Camera app. There is "brightness," though. I'm guessing that's the same thing. Alright, I'll try that, thanks.

When I am not using ProShot, I use ProCam and it has a setting for ISO. It should also be in Nokia Camera app, since it was derived from it. Try setting your ISO to 100 or 200 and see if you like the low light pics better. You will have to hold the camera steady for this.

Thanks, lowering the ISO definitely helps. However, I don't think this will help with videos! But that's ok, I doubt I will ever need to record in low light. Thanks :)

Hopefully I will start posting pictures here soon!

MDak280 - All these night shots were shot with my 521 in low light and manually set low ISO (100 or 200). Tripod mounting. Still some noise, of course, and blur caused by my cheap mount shaking, but I'm happy with em for a cheap camera phone. I am sure your 925 can do even better, once you get the hang of it :)
