How can I switch off my Lumia 925 after it got hanged?

Unable to switch off my Lumia 925 after it got hanged

Hi..

My Lumia 925 hanged all of a sudden today. I can only see the lock screen which is continuously on. I can't lock/unlock the lock screen nor i can switch off my phone. When i am calling my number, i am not even able to receive the call.
One thing i did today was, i installed the Glance screen update and also selected Whatsapp as lock screen app.

Please can anyone tell me how to switch off the phone as i cannot remove the battery and also please tell me what is the reason of this issue as this never happened before.

soft reset = hold POWER & VOLUME DOWN for ~~ 10 seconds, until phone vibrates - NO loss of data !
