Edumacate me. TMobile, Dev Preview, Cyan

My TMobile 925 is currently running the Dev Preview. With the announcement that Cyan is available, I'd like to get that. I think. I mean, don't I? I think so....

If I understand this right, and there is a good chance I don't, this means I need to use the Nokia tool to re-flash the Tmobile build to my phone. Then I'd need to do the update to Cyan. Is that right? Or is it possible to get the Cyan hardware updates while running Dev Preview?

Thanks!

There were several phones that had the Cyan update unlocked for download over DP. Try to update, if it doesn't show it available, you may have to wait a little longer, OR reflash the official t-mobile updates. If it shows as an update, than you're in the clear. Let us know which it turns out to be ;)

So far, an update is not available according to my phone. My firmware is *eligible* for the update (3051.40000.1404.0011). But it is not already on the Cyan build (01061.00074.14391.37104). Hopefully it's just because it's rolling out and my phone hasn't picked it up yet? Would rather not flash back but will if I need to.

Re: Edumacate me. TMobile, Dev Preview, Cyan

I'm pretty sure a couple of people, including Daniel Rubino, said in the article on the main page about the T-Mobile 925 getting the official update to 8.1 that those on the developer preview should be able to get Cyan without downgrading to WP8. I guess we just have to be patient and wait till it rolls out. I know I've been thus far.

Not helpful, but the fact that the Cyan update hasn't been rolled to all users by now is a disgrace.

I'm updating right now...and am running the DP. Didn't have to flash anything. I'll let you know when it's done and if I'm on cyan (the update didn't tell me what the update was...so I'm assuming that's what I'm installing.)

Installed, and another update after that. No issues, never had to flash anything.

It does, at least if you're not on DP. And better than ever. MMS now works too over wifi calling!!!

DP update 1 users: Still functional?

I'm guessing Calling/messaging over WiFi will work now. Well, hoping.

Finally, SMS while on WFC works. However, my WFC, which was very unstable to begin with, is a lot worse. For instance, one ring and then nothing, or no ring at all.

I'm running my phone on Wi-Fi calling since early afternoon, when the signal crapped out while I was texting with my mother. Not at home but at the house my boyfriend is renting a room in and is in the process of moving to. Interestingly enough, I had a better signal on cellular with T-Mobile than he has on his Verizon phone (although his is a dinosaur flip phone).

MMS is not SMS. MMS uses data, or alternatively, wifi. Which connects to data, obviously. SMS uses unused moments in the voice codec.
