If you absolutely need a phone right now, go with the 635 because it's less expensive and can do just about everything the 925 can (except the 635 has no camera flash).

If you can wait a bit, see where 640 prices are before deciding then.

I've owned both. If price doesn't matter, go with the 925. While the 635 is a great budget phone, it's exactly that. Low resolution screen - looks very faded, camera is worse and doesn't have a flash, plastic build vs the high end material of the 925. Who knows how long you'll be waiting for a Windows 10 phone to be released. If you need a phone now and price isn't an option, go 925. Objectively, the 635 is a great budget phone. Once you're used to other high end phones, a low end phone like the 635 is hard to use. But both offer similar Windows 8 experiences.

925 >>> 635

Build quality is MUCH better. You get a pretty good camera. video App resume is much faster than 830 on the 925, so is in-app performance such as loading, and the 635 and 830 share a chipset. The display has clearblack, and is AMOLED which the 635 does not. So there you go.

I wouldn't commit to contract, whatever you do. You can get good used ones pretty cheaply, w/o contract, in good condition.

I like the 635, for what it is. That said, the extra $50 for a 925 would really be worth it.
